Third Space is a creative cultural toolkit for University of Edinburgh students.

It is a series of activities which wrap around an international experience giving students the tools and community to explore, reflect, engage, and share culture during the different stages of their time away.

Simply put, a third space refers to when one culture meets another culture – something new is created.

The Third Space process includes workshops, a toolkit of activities, and an online community to bring together shared experiences and can be used with anyone about to experience a cultural transition. It was created by a team of academics, professional staff, and students at University of Edinburgh.  Third Space activities, tools, and materials must be used by request.
